Dear Member

 

Welcome to the Minnie Water Wooli Junior Surf Lifesaving Club for 2011/12 season.  We endeavour to provide a safe friendly environment for our children to participate in activities aimed at developing surf awareness, surf skills and friendship.  Our success relies on the commitment and willingness of all parents and friends to assist in the running of club activities, whether on the beach, in the water or helping out with the BBQ duties.  So please be aware that you will be expected to contribute in some way on nipper days.

 

Attached is an events calendar for the season.  I have highlighted the following important points and dates for you to keep in mind:

 

• All children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult whilst participating in club activities.  The club is not to be used as a child minding service.

At least one parent/carer must join as an Associate member.

 

• This year Nippers will meet at 9.30 am with events to begin at 10.00am sharp.

 

• Our sign on day & BBQ is Sunday 25th September at Main Beach Minnie Water between 10am and 1pm.  The Joining fee is U6 & U7 - $45 and U8-U14 - $50 Associate member $50.  We have a family rate of $150 for three or more member of the same family.

 

• We will be conducting a timed pool swim and sign on day at South Grafton indoor pool on Saturday 24 September and Saturday 8^th October, from 2pm to 4pm.  Please note that children from U9 to U14’s must be able to pass the Preliminary skills Assessment (see attached) before membership can be finalised.  Children must be able to swim as we do not do learn to swim.  We teach surf awareness and develop surf skills.

 

Listed below are the age groups members will be in for the 2011/12 season if they are born between the following dates.

 

1st October 1997 to 30th September 1998 U/14

1st October 1998 to 30th September 1999 U/13

1st October 1999 to 30th September 2000 U/12

1st October 2000 to 30th September 2001 U/11

1st October 2001 to 30th September 2002 U/10

1st October 2002 to 30th September 2003 U/9

1st October 2003 to 30th September 2004 U/8

 

Please note: Proof of age/birth certificate must be shown for all new children.

 

• Our first Nipper day will be on Sunday 9^th October at Minnie Water Main Beach.  Open water proficiency will be conducted on this day.
